Arson at Geleta Park in Two Hills

Two Hills, Alberta – Sometime between the 18th and 23rd of October, 2013, unknown person(s) set fire to a picnic table in Geleta Park and caused damage to additional town property in the park. This had the potential of causing a larger fire which would have been devastating to the park. Geleta Park has been the site of multiple property related offences over the past several years and the repairs are paid for out of the town budget, diverting money from other projects.

The public are encouraged to educate themselves on the Town of Two Hills by-laws and report any by-law infractions, notably entering the park after-hours.

The Town is Offering a reward of up to $500.00 for information leading to the successful prosecution and conviction of any person or persons responsible for damage or destruction of municipal property?

RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying person(s) responsible for the damages. The public is also encouraged to call in regarding any suspicious activity, especially in the early morning hours.
