Highway 16 Multi Vehicle Collision – Highway Closed

Sherwood Park, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services are presently on scene of a serious multi vehicle collision on Highway 16 eastbound near Highway 21. Highway 16 eastbound is presently closed between Broadmoor Boulevard and Highway 21. Approximately 10 vehicles are involved in the collision with one 34 year old female receiving serious injuries while other injuries are minor in nature.

Multiple collisions are reported on Highway 16 eastbound between Broadmoor Boulevard and Highway 21.

Motorists are advised to avoid this area and seek alternate routes.

With today’s snowfall, local highways remain in poor condition with slippery sections and motorists are urged to use caution when traveling.

An update will be provided when the highway reopens.
